Waymark Forge · Later

Agent-safe Git infrastructure for humans and many agents.

Forge is a planned self-hosted Git platform and GitHub alternative for agent-heavy teams—with leases, manifests, scoped authority, server-side Seatbelt protection, and customer-owned source hosting.

Roadmap

Studio is coming first. Forge is a future product direction and is not yet available.

Future primitives

Coordinate before agents collide.

The opening is not “agents can write code.” It is many agents working safely in the same repositories.

Compact manifests

A caller-scoped view of repository state, active work, allowed actions, checks, and recommended next steps.

Time-bound leases

Agents claim tasks, modules, paths, or review scope before they spend time editing.

Server-enforced policy

Path, action, data, branch, and provenance rules are evaluated on the canonical repository.

Git compatibility

Normal clone, fetch, push, and pull behavior with stronger agent-aware enforcement around changes.

Customer-owned deployment

Source code can remain in infrastructure controlled by the customer.

Server Seatbelt

Incoming changes can be quarantined, checked, rejected, traced, and rolled back before they reach protected branches.

Self-hosted by design

A GitHub alternative with a different center of gravity.

Forge focuses first on the repository control plane that autonomous development needs. It is not a day-one clone of every GitHub surface.

Replace the control plane

Your Git repositories. Your policy. Your infrastructure.

Normal Git clients connect to a customer-controlled server that owns identity, repository access, branch rules, provenance, and recovery.

Add what agentic work needs

Coordinate before agents collide.

Manifests, time-bound leases, path scopes, push quarantine, and Server Seatbelt make multi-agent work governable at the canonical repository.

Progressive adoption

Useful with or without Studio.

Forge is planned to meet teams where their agent workflows already live.
